Winning the Agent Commerce Revolution
Better than Mastercard or Visa ever could..
Hello Investing Friend!!
I hope you are well!!
If not, I have a moonshot of an opportunity for us today.
The market has been brutal if your name is not “AI” or “precious metals”.
So today we are taking a swing on a huge AI opportunity.
Our last stock was a gold/resources play, and is doing well:
And the one before that is up too, amazingly not an AI or PM play:
But there is so much carnage in the market for everything else, we are seeing some opportunities.
What would be nice, is if we could find something that has been beaten down for not being an AI play…but actually is a huge AI play.
Wouldn’t that be great?
Well my investing friend, we do see a huge agentic AI opportunity where the market does not. Today’s stock has been obliterated:
So let’s talk about the opportunity before the market catches on.
There is a major revolution happening in e-commerce.
The enormous shift from physical stores to online shopping has been a wrecking ball to traditional commerce. That process is not even complete yet. But already a new wrecking ball is swinging commerce’s way again.
That wrecking ball’s name is agent commerce.
The rise of autonomous AI agents handling shopping tasks on behalf of consumers is already happening, and can’t be stopped.
We chat with an AI interface about what we want, how often we want it, what our budget is, and what our other preferences are, and voilà.
For consumers, things are getting even easier.
For businesses — even the likes of Mastercard and Visa — disruption has never been so afoot.
In traditional e-commerce world the battle was to win the “search“. In agent commerce world, the battle is to win the “accuracy”. It is about being able to “prove” who is the best source for your shopping dollar.
And five-and-a-half trillion dollars are stake:
The most salient point here, as we see it, is that protocols are the new platforms.
It used to be that having a platform was the way to build a can’t-be-caught network. But any platform that has humans comparison shopping is going the way of the dodo bird.
The day of needing happy lifestyle photos of good looking people using your products is now over.
The day of needing clean, reliable data listed in the main protocols has just begun.
Merchants with the best reviews, prices, shipping times, return policies, and sustainability policies available as clean, reliable data in the main protocols will win the sale.
And the protocol owners will win the war.
Per Britannica, a protocol is “a set of rules or procedures for transmitting data between electronic devices”.
And we think the owners of the protocols that agents use in commerce will be tomorrow’s big winners.
And there is one protocol owner with a moat right under the market’s nose, and the market is completely missing it.
Also, one more reason these reliable protocols will be so important going forward is hyper-dynamic pricing.
Static pricing for physical items is now dead.
Retailers are using agents to change prices hourly based on inventory and weather.
Interestingly, weather is a huge input for the pricing of physical goods now.
This is not just because of shipping delays (where pricing is instantly recalculated for every item that will be delayed in every zip code).
But heat also impacts ice cream and beer sales (so load up when it is cold).
And people stay home and get delivery when it is raining, so again prices jump up, even before the rain falls. And those perishable picnic supplies won’t be moving in the rain, so those prices drop.
In the old days, Google might scrape web data to show the latest prices.
But in hyper-dynamic pricing world, this is too slow.
Instead of platforms going to every source and pulling the data, the merchants themselves will update the protocols, pushing the new data instantly for agents to see.
So protocols are the new platforms in agent commerce world.
And the most trustworthy protocol wins.
And that is what we may have here today my friend. A protocol with a claim as the most trustworthy source of truth. Offering insights (and thus more trustworthy data) than even the likes of Mastercard and Visa cannot offer.
This founder-led, beaten-down stock is…
